The Film Design Program is a one-year, end-to-end learning experience designed to make students proficient across a wide range of video production skills. This program prepares students in the use of cameras, lighting, sound, scripting, and editing equipment to plan, film, and deliver polished productions for multiple industries. But this isn’t just about learning technical skills. The goal is to build a toolkit students can apply in the real world—from working as a one-person crew to collaborating on a professional film set. Students will participate in real-world productions that reflect the jobs they’ll encounter after graduation, from small corporate videos to large-scale commercial, industrial, and entertainment projects.

Graduates will leave with both hard skills (camera, editing, sound, scripting, lighting) and soft skills (client management, creative pitching, collaboration), positioning them to thrive in today’s fast-changing media landscape. Students will also explore how new tools like AI can both support and disrupt their work—and how to adapt..

Technology Requirements

Students will have access to professional gear, including: ● Small and medium cinema cameras ● Professional lighting and grip equipment ● Audio and recording gear, including field recorders, boom mics, and lavaliers ● Post-production edit suites with Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing and project management ● Adobe After Effects for compositing, motion graphics, and visual effects ● Adobe Audition for mixing, soundscapes, and audio cleanup ● Basic color correction tools Students may bring their own gear, but the school will provide the bulk of equipment for production work.
